Follow-up on Weather Service Modernization and NOAA Corps Issues Gao ID: AIMD/GGD-97-75R April 10, 1997

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided responses to questions submitted by Members of the Subcommittee on Energy and Environment, House Committee on Science, on various National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issues.

GAO noted that: (1) these responses cover two National Weather Service modernization projects, the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System and the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) program, and the NOAA Commissioned Corps; and (2) the basis for GAO's responses is its testimony and recent reports on GOES and the NOAA Commissioned Corps.
