Endangered and Threatened Species--Threatened Status for Two Chinook Salmon Evolutionarily Significant Units in California Gao ID: OGC-00-5 October 15, 1999

Pursuant to a legislative requirement, GAO reviewed the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) new rule on the threatened status for two chinook salmon evolutionarily significant units (ESU) in California. GAO noted that: (1) the rule would list two additional ESUs as a threatened species; and (2) NOAA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
