Need for DOD Focal Point for the Studies and Analyses Program

GAO reviewed the progress of the Department of Defense (DOD) in improving its overall management of the studies and analyses program and in strengthening program weaknesses identified during earlier reviews. GAO found that current program weaknesses are basiscally the same as those identified during earlier reviews, and DOD has taken little or no action to correct these weaknesses. DOD is not centrally managing its studies and analyses program, and has no assurance that program results are effectively used.
