Potential Reductions to Missile Procurement Budgets Gao ID: NSIAD-87-206BR September 10, 1987

In response to a congressional request, GAO reviewed the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps fiscal year (FY) 1988 budget requests for nine missile systems to identify any excess funds.

GAO found that there were potential reductions of: (1) $161.2 million for the Army, $6.8 million for the Marine Corps, and $1.9 million for the Navy in their FY 1988 budget requests; and (2) $92.8 million for the Army, $0.7 million for the Marine Corps, and $6.6 million for the Navy in unused FY 1986 and 1987 appropriations.
