Department of the Army's Information Technology Systems Obligations Gao ID: IMTEC-89-47FS May 18, 1989

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on the Army's information technology obligations for fiscal years (FY) 1986 through 1990.

GAO found that: (1) information technology obligations ranged from about $2.1 billion in FY 1986 to an estimated $2.5 billion for FY 1990; (2) the Army's operation and maintenance appropriation account received most information technology obligations; and (3) the Army expended the most funds in its commercial services, personnel, capital investment, rental, and other services categories.
