Pipeline of U.S. Aid as of August 1990 Gao ID: NSIAD-90-285FS September 19, 1990

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO determined the amount of unexpended U.S. military and economic assistance for El Salvador.

GAO found that: (1) as of August 1990, unexpended aid to El Salvador totalled $432 million, consisting of about $54 million for military assistance and about $378 million for economic assistance; (2) about $26 million of the unexpended military assistance related to items that had been ordered through various military services, but had not been delivered; and (3) unexpended economic aid consisted of about $35 million in obligated funds and about $343 million in funds that had been obligated but not expended.
