Potential Reductions to Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation Programs Gao ID: NSIAD-92-319BR September 25, 1992

GAO reviewed the Air Force's fiscal year 1993 Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation budget request and prior year appropriations for the F-22, F-15, and F-16 fighter programs. GAO identified $47.2 million in potential reductions to the fiscal year 1993 budget request and $2.1 million in potential rescissions of fiscal year 1992 funds.

GAO found that: (1) the combined total for F-22, F-15, F-16 program reductions and rescissions is $49.3 million; (2) potential FY 1993 reductions total $47.2 million, including $21 million for the F-22 fighter program and $26.2 million for the F-16 fighter program; and (3) potential FY 1992 rescissions include $2.1 million from the F-15 fighter program.
