President's Sixth Special Message for FY 1983

The President's sixth special message for fiscal year 1983 was transmitted to Congress pursuant to the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. The special message proposed a deferral of budget authority totaling $50 million and a revision to a previously reported deferral which increases the amount deferred by almost $1.5 million.

GAO did not identify any additional information that would be useful to Congress in its consideration of the President's proposals and believes that the proposed deferrals are in accordance with existing authority.
