Drug Use Measurement
Strengths, Limitations, and Recommendations for Improvement Gao ID: T-PEMD-94-4 October 5, 1993This testimony, based on a June 1993 GAO report (GAO/PEMD-93-18), examines three nationally prominent drug use studies: the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse, the High School Senior Survey, and the Drug Use Forecasting study of booked arrestees. GAO discusses the studies' findings; the degree of confidence one can have in these findings; and how drug use measurement studies could be improved, with a particular focus on high-risk populations.
