Bonus to Reward States for High Performance Under the TANF Program Gao ID: OGC-01-1 October 5, 2000

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) promulgated a major rule on rewarding bonuses to states for achieving high performance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program (TANF). The final rule implements a provision of the Social Security Act which authorizes bonuses to high performing states. With the exception of the rule's effective date, ACF complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
