Availability of Funds under 31 U.S.C. 3721

This report responds to a request from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for our opinion on the availability of USAID appropriations to pay for damages to a car owned by a USAID employee. The car was destroyed by the flooding of a parking lot while the employee was working in Bolivia.

GAO had no objection to the use of USAID appropriations for the purpose of paying for damages to the car.
