Criteria for Assessing Agency Performance Are Limited Gao ID: IMTEC-87-43BR September 24, 1987

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO evaluated the effectiveness of actions federal agencies have taken to implement the Paperwork Reduction Act's information resources management requirements.

GAO found that: (1) some federal agencies continue to have information resources management problems; and (2) agency criteria for compliance focus on specific agency responsibilities described in the act, rather than on its broader objectives.
