Timeliness of Federal Supply Schedules Gao ID: GGD-86-42 January 31, 1986

GAO reviewed the results of its survey on the timeliness of the Federal Supply Service's (FSS) schedules and contract award program.

GAO found that: (1) FSS has improved its efforts to award contracts and issue schedules on time; (2) the internal management report FSS used to monitor schedule publication contained errors that underestimated the number of schedules that were not issued on time and the number of days late for schedules that were reported as late; (3) FSS issued schedules that did not provide the extent of coverage required by FSS regulations; and (4) FSS issued schedules that lacked information that customer agencies needed.
