Correction of Deficiencies in Walnut Towers Building, Vicksburg, MS Gao ID: GGD-88-10FS November 2, 1987

In response to a congressional request, GAO investigated the fire safety hazards at the General Services Administration's (GSA) leased building in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

GAO found that: (1) GSA and the city initiated action to resolve the building's fire safety deficiencies; (2) the owner corrected some of the deficiencies and plans to correct others by January 1988; and (3) GSA has not finished determining financial responsibility for each deficiency, which could affect adherence to this schedule.
