Appraisal of Land to Be Sold to Columbia Hospital for Women Gao ID: GGD-89-46 March 10, 1989

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO obtained an independent appraisal of a government-owned property in the District of Columbia which will be sold to the Columbia Hospital for Women Medical Center.

GAO found that the: (1) appraiser estimated that the special-use value and fair market value of the property, as unimproved land, was $8.55 million on December 31, 1981, and $20 million on October 31, 1988; and (2) appraisal represented a reasonable and appropriate estimate of the property's value on those dates.
