Information on the Automated Mission and Payload Tracking System Gao ID: IMTEC-87-38FS September 1, 1987

In response to a congressional request, GAO provided information on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Automated Mission and Payload Tracking System, which will provide improved automated systems support to its Space Shuttle program activities at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center.

GAO found that the system will: (1) eliminate data duplication among five existing systems through integration; (2) increase data accuracy; (3) improve data accessibility within NASA; and (4) provide enhanced capability not available in the existing systems.
