As Congress grapples with defining and implementing the federal export promotion strategy, the role of the U.S. Export-Import Bank is being examined more closely than ever. Because the Eximbank is the main source of federal export credits, particularly in an environment in which commercial banks are shunning export finance, the Eximbank is a significant component of the government's export promotion strategy. This testimony discusses several matters affecting how the Eximbank helps U.S. exporters.
