Administration of the Workers' Compensation Program

Gao ID: GGD-77-45 July 8, 1977

The Postal Service's cost for workers' compensation has increased greatly since fiscal year 1973. Even though the Postal Service has taken action to manage its program more efficiently, it needs to do more.

Many problems appear to result from insufficient number of staff to administer the program and inadequate procedures and training.
