Review of Allegations by a Postal Service Employee Regarding Claim for Injury Compensation

Gao ID: GGD-83-49 March 7, 1983

GAO was asked to review allegations made by a Postal Service employee concerning compensation for a job-related injury at a general mail facility.

GAO found that the employee was paid through a period of full incapacitation immediately following her injury and was provided supplemental benefits through a 45-day continuance of pay period. Since the matter of the employee's entitlement to compensation was being reviewed by the Department of Labor's workers' compensation office, GAO could not comment on the final outcome.
